Hark, It’s Christmas Eve

Christmas angel cardI’ll share one last card with you in our Christmas countdown, and it’s a beauty. My old friend Caroline sent me this lovely angel a few years ago.

We met in the San Francisco airport when I borrowed a pen from her to fill out some paperwork. Both of us were bound for teaching jobs in Australia, and Caroline and I ended up sharing a flat together in a suburb of Melbourne. We’ve been friends ever since.

snowball fightHere we are tossing snowballs in New Zealand in August — Christmas fell in mid summer so Santa arrived by surfboard.

If you celebrate Christmas, may you enjoy a warm and merry one wherever you are.

I have a dear friend I’ve known since first grade. She used to introduce me as her oldest friend. I asked her to please refer to me as a dear friend or long-time friend, or friend from first grade, but not her oldest friend! Merry Christmas!
